To increase the stiffness of the C-axis, the MX7 ULTRA combines developments to the nanometer or micro degree resolution in the linear and rotary axis, tuning parameters, several system enhancements, and major mechanical changes.

The FX5, with the new 12kW spindle delivers increased productivity up to a diameter of 10mm. At 19kW, the new high-powered spindle option can enhance productivity further for tools up to 12mm and above. The high-powered spindle option on FX5 matches the grinding spindle fitted to the FX7 machine with 6-wheel packs, suited for a more industrial environment.

Compared to mechanical, roller or ball bearing based linear stages and rotary stages, air bearings are friction free and wear free and generate no particles during operation, making them clean-room compatible and ideal for dynamic, 24/7 duty cycle automation applications. In an air bearing stage, the moving platform glides on a thin film of air.

The machine places 128 spindles precisely and very close to center. A unique gearless drive is key to making it happen, not only getting each spindle as close as possible, but ensuring rigid performance to avoid backlash. The result is high-quality threads with no lag or out of tolerance thread forms due to gear train play that can occur using a geared head.

An in-house Tormach professional will install, align, and test all pre-installed components (if partial assembly is chosen) and major systems to the machines for full assembly. This allows customers to speed up the time to commission their new machines quickly at their shop once they arrive.

The GrindSmart 630XW 6-axis tool grinding machine and ShapeSmart NP50 5-axis pinch/peel cylindrical grinding machine are suitable for use in the following fields: manufacturing parts for the weapons industry, rifle chamber manufacturing and reconditioning, cold forging in radial forging machines, and punches for ammunition tooling manufacturing.

The Shop Tap pneumatic machine is a medium duty general purpose tapping machine. It provides variable mounting capabilities and has two different motor choices and a working area reach of 62 inches. It features a stationary bench, quick change tooling adapter and a vertical motor bracket.

The microARC 4 reduces both operator workload and cycle times with a high-quality, low-maintenance harmonic drive. The drive provides extremely precise motion control, coupled with much higher rapid speeds than a worm-drive unit.

Outfitted with FANUC's new 0i-MF Plus control, the KH-4100kai offers numerous customizable functions, a new user interface, as well as pallet and tool management screens. New internal sheet metal placement and machine way wipers keep chips from interfering with critical components and guide chips to the center trough, ensuring a pristine, debris-free environment.

Models within the new turning machine series include the QT-Ez 8, QT-Ez 10 and QT- Ez 12 each offered in 2-axis, M, MY and MSY versions. M versions include milling capability, MY machines feature milling and Y-axis off-centerline capability and MSY machines are a combination of both milling and Y axis capability paired with second turning spindles for complete DONE IN ONE® part processing.
