Dormer Pramet launches new Pramet chipbreakers and grades. The NF1 and NF2 positive chipbreakers support turning applications in stainless steel while the FF2, FM2 and RM3 chipbreakers support steel and cast iron.

Seco has expanded the high-feed machining applicability of its Jabro-HFM JHF980 solid-carbide endmill with new 4- and 5-flute options. The additional flutes allow part manufacturers in industries such as aerospace and medical to achieve maximum productivity when performing face, slot and select plunge milling operations.

In response to both the growth in quantity and complexity of structural aerospace components, an updated range of CoroMill 390 Silent Tools has been developed by Sandvik Coromant. The upgraded Silent Tools dampening technology will allow machine shops to machine deep pockets on titanium aerospace frame parts with greater security and higher metal-removal rates.

Cutting tool and tooling systems specialist Sandvik Coromant has made its high performance steel milling grade, GC1130, available for use with CoroMill QD and CoroMill 331 groove milling cutters. Wiha Tools Monticello has introduced new Cushion Grip Ultra Drivers. The company says they are ultralight, ultracompact and ultra fast. The high-quality drivers include 13 double-end, exact-fit precision bits. That makes 26 assorted tip sizes to choose from.

The Kanefusa single use saw blade technology is reportedly superior to other sawing concepts both in economical and environmental perspectives. The FM (Ferro Max) cold saw blades (single use) cut on average three times faster than a conventional bandsaw or metal saw, which means one machine can do the job of three, reducing power consumption, exhaust emission and mist oil in the air and floor space, all good for the environment.

With the FIGHTMAX, tool manufacturer Inovatools, based in Kinding-Haunstetten, Germany, is sending a well-trained HPC fighter into the ring to instill fear into its opponents. Kyocera Group is exhibiting a range of newly developed metalworking tools at the Japan trade show JIMTOF 2016. These will include the new CA3 Series CVD coated carbide indexable cutting tool inserts for cast iron machining; the Magic Drill DRA, a high-performance modular drill; and the MFH Micro, a tiny-caliber high-feed cutting tool.

The new Walter Cut G1511-P grooving tool with precision coolant supply, available in 1.0 in. shank sizes, provides long tool life and high productivity, among other benefits. It is suitable for universal use, performing grooving, parting-off, recessing and face grooving with GX insert cutting widths from 0.024 to 0.250-in. (0.6 to 6.35 mm), and can perform radial and axial grooving operations without loss of stability.
