Based on a technology platform similar to the existing CoroMill® 345, this new milling concept offers a 40 percent lighter cutter body with shim protection and a high number of inserts for secure and stable machining, even in vibration-prone overhang applications.

As the world's smallest digital fine boring tool with a peripheral cutting edge, the unbalanced 420 (410) series has a diameter range of 0.787 inches – 1.142 inches (20.00 millimeters – 29.00 millimeters). The 465 (464) boring heads offer automatic self-balancing and bore diameters from 1.142 inches – 8.071 inches (29.00 millimeters – 205.00 millimeters).

What makes the CoroMill Dura stand out compared to the former versatile concept and competitor end mills is its WhisperKut technology. The CoroMill Dura is available from two to seven flutes with 1-4×D cutting length, with and without a chip divider. The end mills can be reconditioned up to three times to original specifications.

Built for difficult applications involving ISO P, M, K and S materials, the cutters offer application-specific sub- family designs featuring left or right-hand helixes, half- or full-effective teeth options, two front insert and many radii choices for long tool life and maximum chip evacuation.

The line of high-precision ball splines is ideal for high-speed operation in compact spaces such as laboratory automation or semiconductor pick-and-place assembly. They can automate functions that a human might otherwise perform, like opening the cover of a sample jar and pouring it in a test tube.

The Star Cutter Company in Farmington Hills, Mich., has acquired a majority share of Samputensili Cutting Tools in Bentivoglio, Italy. The company has been incorporated into the Star SU brand, serving the European market as Star SU Europe S.r.l.

In a field study on an aluminum cylinder head, the application of the extended drill was able to achieve a tool life of 2,000 parts per drill when machining holes of 8 mm diameter at 5,000 RPM in the cut and a feed rate of 1200mm/minute.

Tungaloy has expanded its economical, double-sided negative insert line with the -28 chipbreaker. Featuring a pressed-in chipbreaker geometry with a large inclination angle on the sharp cutting edge, the -28 generates free cutting action with superior chip control.

The Star AR solution is designed for ease of use. Customers may either rent AR glasses from Star Cutter or purchase their own set. When an incident occurs, an AR session is initiated through a service request and the connection made via wireless technologies.
