Walter Surface Technologies announces the introduction of SST (Super Speed Tip) drill bits in the United States.

LACH DIAMOND says its newly developed PCD twist drill type PS saves up to 75 percent of time by reducing three previously necessary steps to one process. The new PCD twist drill completes piloting, drilling and reaming all in one "shot."

The Dormer Force X upgrades the Dormer MPX solid-carbide drill family with new geometry, corner design and edge preparation. The upgrade applies to the 3xD R457 and R458 and the 5xD R453 and R454, bringing them in-line with the newly launched 8xD R459.

Allied Machine & Engineering announces its new GEN3SYS XT Pro line of high-penetration drilling products. The product line features enhanced holders and inserts with three unique geometries, and two advanced coatings.

EXSYS Tool's 90-degree Skiving Drilling and Milling Head not only provides angled drilling and milling capabilities on turning centers, but also enables the machines to perform gear skiving operations. The new head cuts gear patterns faster than conventional gear shaping or broaching methods and generates both internal and external gears with helical profiles, as well as gears close to part shoulders without interference.

Emuge Corp. announced it has expanded its EF-Series of high-penetration rate drills with a new line of submicrograin carbide coolant-fed microdrills. The EF high-performance microdrills range from 0.0295 in. (0.75 mm) up to 0.1181 in. (3.0 mm) in diameter, are all coolant through design, and are ideal for aerospace, medical and precision automotive applications designed for producing very small deep holes in steel, cast iron, stainless steels and nonferrous materials.

DrillMeister features simple and swift drill head indexing due to its self-clamping system. Tool replacement is easy: just replace the drill head. There is no need to remove the entire drill body from the toolholder and re-adjust the tool overhang, thus reducing a large amount of tool change time.

The RT 100 S drill from Guhring was especially developed for the complex machining of steel materials. It reportedly scores points thanks to high cutting values and consistently good hole quality. An especially stable and accurate cutting edge is produced thanks to the special micro-geometry.

Controx-Neuhauser introduces its Decoring Cut tool, which both drills through honeycomb composite panels and undercuts the skins (thus removing the cores) in a single labor-saving step. A sophisticated end tooth design enables Decoring Cut to cut through the top skin while maintaining tight tolerances with no delamination.

Tungaloy Corp. further expands its indexable-insert gundrill line, DeepTriDrill, with options down to a diameter range of 14-15.9 mm. Deep-hole drilling is a challenging operation and often creates a bottleneck in holemaking shops around the globe.

Walter has introduced two new products for the DC150 drill lineup: 3xD and12xD, both with coolant through the tool body. The DC150 is positioned in the Perform line—a tough, versatile and cost effective Walter Titex family of solid-carbide drills. The two, new length-to-diameter ratio drills join the 5xD and 8xD drills.
