The new portable unit brings features that were previously only available in PC-based systems to the mobile world. Features including automatic creation of measuring reports in PDF format, integration of a barcode or data matrix scanner, and printing reports to letter size paper are now all standard. An optional portable printer is also available. n

This photometer detects an optical input signal and converts it into a precision, logarithmic voltage signal with high resolution. The optical power meter is used to find the maximum optical intensity quickly when integrated in fully automatic, optical FMPA alignment systems. The logarithmic scaling of the output signal is particularly advantageous for fast scans because the signal strength can fluctuate by several orders of magnitude within a few milliseconds.n

AIMS Metrology, a manufacturer of coordinate measuring machines (CMM) based in Dayton, Ohio, in July introduced its new Summit 10.10.10, a CMM engineered with a 5-axis REVO-2 dynamic scanning probe and 1 meter cubed capacity.

This compact system was designed with motorized XYZ-axes and enables measurements to be performed directly on large parts for user-friendly surface analysis, anywhere it is needed. The CM mobile is robust and reliable enough to be used on the shop floor or in the field, and provides consistently high resolution even over large measuring areas.n

The new battery-operated handheld marking system is equipped with a marking field of 85 x 45 mm. It combines the strengths of the already existing models FlyMarker® mini 65/30 and FlyMarker® mini 120/45 plus in one device. It is compact and handy like its little brother FlyMarker® mini 65/30 and at the same time at least as versatile and functional as its big brother FlyMarker® mini 120/45 plus.

The SimpliVac Vacuum optimizes sample impregnation in a faster more automated way and also allows lab technicians to set multiple cycles to complete the mounting process faster. SimpliVac can also accommodate larger samples due to its oversized chamber and sample tray insert, which creates a large flat surface for larger mounts. The integrated turntable allows for bi-directional movement of the samples when aligning, and seeing within the large chamber is easy as it has a large clear lid, thus allowing for simple alignment of samples when pouring. It also has locking controls that prevent inconsistent samples due to user error.

Headlining these new offerings is a series of truly portable dot peen markers. The cordless, battery-operated MP Mobile series can be controlled by any Android/iOS mobile device or a Windows PC using intuitive, powerful software.n

The trend toward miniaturization is unstoppable. Automotive parts, semiconductors, electrical components and medtech devices: in almost every industry, products now have to combine increasingly compact dimensions with higher performance. And that poses major challenges for manufacturers and suppliers, who have to achieve maximum accuracy when processing these high-precision lightweight parts.

Standard couplers are axial couplers with threaded fasteners commonly used in sensor technology. With their method of fixing these are easy to install and are quickly integrated, thanks to their plug & play functionality. The built-in LED display notifies the user of the system's status at all times. Radial couplers for rotary applications are available with diameters of up to 280 mm and large internal diameters. An inductive coupler system consists of a stationary coupler and a movable mobile coupler.

The improved frame rate of the ImageIR 5300 ensures that users can use this model to solve a wide range of tasks in industry and science. Their modular design consisting of an optics, detector and interface module makes it easy to adapt to a wide variety of measurement scenarios. The integrated process and trigger interface enables the infrared camera to be synchronized precisely with external processes for analyses – and in the case of the ImageIR® 5300, these processes can readily be connected at maximum speeds.

Because cleanliness is essential for accurate measuring, the cleaning module runs tools through an ultrasonic bath. After the bath, an airstream – adjusted according to tool length – then dries the tools. After the tools are cleaned and measured, the laser- marking module imparts static or dynamic data on to tool shanks or end faces.
