Walter has introduced the Walter has introduced the M2471, a copy milling cutter with excellent cost efficiency thanks to its high metal-removal rate -- even on low performance machines, coupled with lower cutting material costs resulting from its eight cutting edges (four per side) per insert. These 12 mm positive cutting geometry, round inserts with negative basic shape feature Walter's Tiger·tec Silver coating, ensuring maximum tool life.

Sandvik Coromant has unveiled a new, high-feed version of the CoroMill 745 facemilling cutter, featuring a 25° entering angle for additional productivity gains when milling steel and cast iron workpieces. The new, high-feed version facilitates even higher metal-removal rates in applications with depths of cut up to 2.8 mm (0.110 inch).

Seco has further expanded its selection of disc milling inserts and cutter bodies to meet customer demands for reliable, high performing cutters. With that, the company has introduced the 335.14 small-diameter exchangeable head system, 335.16 cutter for T-slot operations and cassette versions of its 335.25 cutter that incorporate round inserts.

Walter has introduced the M2136, a multitooth close-pitch finishing cutter that features a high degree of process reliability coupled with superior cost effectiveness, particularly with cast iron, thanks in part to its eight cutting edges per insert. These stable, negative inserts promote not only stability but also ease of handling as well as leading to high levels of surface quality during the finishing process.

A heavy-duty ID clamping pipe milling end prep tool that can J-prep bevel, face and bore all hard pipe alloys in preparation for orbital welding is available from ESCO Tool. The Esco Prepzilla Millhog ID clamping end prep tool is offered with a wide selection of cutting blades, including a J-preparation blade that creates a consistent contoured radius and clean neck for orbital welding.

The new R220.88 facemilling cutter family from Seco features inserts with eight cutting edges and optimized geometries that provide excellent tool life and reduced cutting forces. The cutter body's 88-degree lead angle allows for large depths of cut with smaller insert sizes, as compared to 45-degree lead angle facemills.

The MicroCut F miniature chamfer milling cutter from Denitool Inc. is for tube-end treatment and chamfering of small- to medium-size threads and countersinks. It is suitable for bore diameters as small as 2mm (0.079") in diameter.

Tungaloy Corp. is continuously expanding its TungMeister changeable-head endmill system. The latest addition involves a new line of modular heads for the TungForce-Rec indexable miniature shoulder milling cutter series.

Controx milling cutters are suitable for the grooving of rotary vane and turbo pump rotors and other rotors requiring precision depth and width control. Slot widths of up to 5/8" and depths to 3" are possible with or without contour in the slot base.

Kanefusa USA Inc. says its fine-pitch-tooth PCD facemill realizes high-speed feeding and high productivity when milling aluminum surfaces. The tool offers high-quality cutting with precision sharpened edges.

Tungaloy Corp. is continuously expanding its DoFeed series. The latest addition includes inserts in grade AH8015.

Controx presents the Panel Cut line of tools, which reportedly allow feed rates up to 400 ipm for maximum productivity and a clean surface finish. Designed specifically for machining lightweight composite sandwich panels, these shank tools employ sophisticated tool geometry to drill through sandwich panels with no delamination on the glass or carbon fiber skins or flagging of the honeycomb in between.
