Tungaloy Corp. introduces TungTri-Shred, a new shoulder milling cutter for highly productive machining. With today's dramatic growth in the performance of machine tools, high-speed machining is often the first choice for manufacturers.

DoForce-Tri from Tungaloy America accepts a double-sided insert with six cutting edges. Three types of inserts are available to meet the needs of many different jobs: a standard wiper insert with an MJ chipbreaker on true 90-degree cutting edges or with an NMJ chipbreaker on serrated cutting edges, as well as a radius insert with an MJ chipbreaker on large round corners for edge toughness instead of wipers.

WS40PM's cobalt-rich substrate provides robust fatigue resistance and edge integrity, while the multiphase AlTiN-TiN PVD coating reduces tool wear, making it suitable for a range of high-temp steel alloys, austenitic and PH stainless steels, nickel-based superalloys such as Hastelloy and Nitronic, and titanium.

Kennametal is expanding its Mill 4 family with a new cutting tool, the Mill 4-11. Designed for smaller machining centers, the Mill 4-11 accommodates 40-taper CAT and BT, HSK 50 and similarly-sized spindles. Due to its free-cutting capabilities, it is ideal for successful metal removal in less-than-rigid setups and on light-duty machine tools, multitaskers and live-tool lathes.

The new MC341 Supreme carbide shoulder/slot milling cutter from Walter is specially designed for extended tool life when machining steel and stainless steels. According to the company, yhe cutter delivers exceptional tool life, plus performance improvements of up to 100 percent thanks to the innovative new Walter WK40TZ grade, a special proprietary coating process and added design enhancements as well.

MK Tools solid-carbide round tools from Monaghan Tooling Group introduces new "Speed-Drill R4" geometry, reportedly offering unparalleled cutting speeds and unprecedented tool life when cutting gray cast iron, ductile iron and forged steel, which are popular materials in automotive engine and chassis components. With a new corner radius design which is tangential to the drill point but nontangential to the diameter, these proven designs address challenging, high production drilling applications.

Walter has introduced its new Prototyp Advance line of solid-carbide milling tools for universal application. The new Advance milling cutter line consisting of six cutter types and 250 line items, each reportedly providing the ideal balance of hardness and toughness for the widest possible application, plus long tool life (increases of up to 50 percent) thanks to the Advance line's new high-performance WJ30TF grade and Walter's TiAIN coating.

BIG KAISER Precision Tooling Inc. says the C-Cutter Mini enables milling at an ultrahigh feed rate. It offers a small cutting diameter and features a compact design that accepts four inserts, including ones as small as 0.197".

Seco Tools LLC has expanded its solutions for difficult-to-machine materials with the introduction of the High Feed 6—the latest addition to the High Feed series of indexable-insert milling cutters. This new cutter features a design created specifically to boost material removal rates and handle high chip loads, resulting in substantial productivity increases and exceptional tool life, according to the company.

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Inc.'s new HF PCD milling cutter provides highly efficient cutting of aluminum and nonferrous materials. For exceptional milling efficiency, the HF Series features a high-density design (3 teeth per inch).

The new M2131 Sky·tec Ramping Cutter from Walter reportedly brings new, higher levels of process reliability to the machining of nonferrous metals such as the aluminum wrought alloys or aluminum lithium alloys often used in aircraft structural components. The cutter allows shorter machining time due to its high metal-removal rate and delivers long tool life thanks to the low build-up on the cutting edge.
