Monitoring of the pressure curve in all cavities is now much more precise, with the help of an envelope curve adapted to the process. The ComoNeo 4.1 is WLAN-compatible for the first time, and users will appreciate even more improvements such as additional interfaces and comfortable user management.

The direct drive linear motor provides minimum incremental motion of 1nm, equivalent to ~7 attoseconds of delay. ISO-EcoTurn's GNMG and FNMG inserts each features a reduced nose angle of 70 degrees and 45 degrees, compared with traditional CNMG and DNMG inserts. The increased clearance on the cutting edge allows better chip flow and reduced chip re-cutting issues when face turning the wall. Reduced nose angle also contributes to lower cutting force, minimizing unpredictable tool failure and chatter during machining.

Resulting in simplified programming and increased process reliability, hyperMILL® VIRTUAL Machining NC code-based machine simulation has also been enhanced. Within the VIRTUAL Machining Optimizer module which links individual part programs with smooth and safe connections, the cutter is able to remain close to the workpiece, violations of the axis limitations are now detected and movement sequences are optimized accordingly. There is also a new option in VIRTUAL Machining to apply a special approach and retract strategy to machines where the cutting tool can be retracted into a tunnel.

CoroPlus® Connected is used alongside the existing Silent Tools™ Plus, a digitally connected damped boring bar from Sandvik Coromant. Having been awarded first place in the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) Production Innovation contest in 2018, Silent Tools™ Plus helps customers by providing visibility at the cutting zone in internal turning applications with long overhang.

The P6006 insert can perform up to 10 x Dc without the need for a pilot drill. It features a protective chamfer on the insert with HIPIMS-PVD coating, and the wear resistant WPP25 grade which leads to maximum tool life in stable conditions. Further, the insert has a 100° prism for the contact point in the body, and a 140° point angle with new geometry and thinner web. Optimum wear detection is provided by its light-colored yellow coating.
