ARCH Cutting Tools acquires North American Carbide
ARCH Cutting Tools Corp. in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, has acquired North American Carbide of Orchard Park, New York.
Venturi Pump on FullShop Automated Coolant System
The FullShop Automated Coolant Management System from 168 Manufacturing automatically manages coolant levels and concentrations by sensing and pumping properly mixed coolant to as many as 120 CNC machines. Meanwhile, the LNS Venturi Pump continuously removes and filters coolant from the chip hopper and returns it to the machine sump, thus eliminating cross contamination from central recycling.
Multiaxis Machining
The new Multiaxis Unified toolpath allows you to select multiple pieces of input geometry to generate the toolpath pattern. Using those geometry choices, the toolpath picks the best algorithm to calculate the path. This single toolpath gives you access to all the surface-based toolpaths, as well as the geodesic toolpath options, in a single interface.
DuoJust-Cut
New parting inserts are offered in the JXPS style : a 0.6 mm (.024″) width insert is designed for maximum parting diameter (CUTDIA) of 6 mm (.236″) and a 0.8 mm (.031″) width insert for 12 mm (.472″) CUTDIA, both furnished with pressed chipbreaker. This intricate chipbreaker creates optimally compressed and curled chips, allowing excellent chip evacuation and superior surface finish.
MiniForce-Turn
The MiniForce-Turn series offers innovative double-sided turning inserts with positive rake cutting edges on both sides. These proven inserts are capable of soft cutting action similar to that of positive inserts with an added advantage of double cutting edges.
ModuleWorks 2021.12 CAD/CAM Software Components
This is the third ModuleWorks release of 2021 and contains new and enhanced features across the entire product range, including new multi-axis hole making cycles with independent feed rate control, a new morph pattern for laser aided manufacturing and a collision-free solution for robotics post processing.
High-Temperature Rectangular Connectors
The operational temperature of the Mencom standard metal rectangular connectors is between -40°C and 125°C. However, the Mencom high-temp series enclosures and inserts are designed to withstand a higher range of temperatures up to 180°C (356°F) and cold temperatures down to -40°C (-40°F) when they are installed together. The enclosures are made of die-cast aluminum coated with high-temperature resistant, red-colored thermosetting powder.
Specifying a tool like never before
In 2018, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) predicted that manufacturers would turn increasingly to eCommerce to improve their processes — following examples set by Amazon, Tesla and Uber. This may seem outlandish, but a leading hydraulics manufacturer designed and acquired a tool in just ten days, with Sandvik Coromant's eCommerce platform.
Reshoring may be building back U.S. manufacturing
While some of this momentum comes from COVID-19 pandemic-related shortages and shutdowns and supply chain back-ups; in the long-term reshoring has the potential to save U.S. manufacturers critical production time, reduce transportation costs and could better support just-in-time production by reducing capital tied up in stock.
Power up for better PCD production
How simultaneous high-current and high-frequency have positioned the ANCA EDG as the benchmark for PCD manufacture.
SDMX Indexable Insert
There are two indexable insert sizes with facet—SDMX0904ZDR-E27 and SDMX1205ZDR-E27. The M4002 cutter provides a depth of cut of 1.5 or 2.0 mm and is available in diameters of 25-125 mm or 1-4 in. and is ideal for high-speed milling in steel and cast iron, stainless steel and materials with difficult cutting properties. And for demanding machining in mold and die making and general machining.
Pin Vises
Pin Vises have a small footprint, allowing room for more parts on a table resulting in increased throughput. Pin Vises are also lightweight making them ideal for automated applications where weight is a consideration.
