The new single-phase electric, 60-gal. Sump Shark sump cleaner is available from Cecor Inc. With a suction lift of 13” Hg or 177” water and pumping rate of 60 gpm, the SE15-60PL can suck up an entire sump of metalworking fluid entrained with sludge or chips in just minutes.

SFcompact Chip Conveyor

The new LNS SFcompact chip conveyor (available September 2016) filters coolant to 50 microns and handles virtually all chip types and sizes, from stringy stainless steel to fine brass and aluminum. Unlike other chip conveyors capable of 50-micron filtration, the filtering system is integrated within the rigid frame, so SFcompact requires no more floor space than a typical hinge-belt conveyor and, in most cases, can use the existing coolant tank, according to the company.

Sunnen's new SVF series Grit Guard coolant filter is a build-to-suit solution with progressively higher levels of filtration available, along with chilling, to meet process requirements in abrasive machining. Base Grit Guard models are available in 55- and 110-gallon capacities, equipped with twin and quad Sunnen PF filter cartridges, with a total filtration capacity of 8,800 in.2 and 17,600 in.2 respectively.

The units can be expanded by adding a filter module that consists of three filter vessels, filter pump and plumbing. Model V9 can service up to 10 grinders, and the system can incorporate three additional machines by adding a module. The systems filter to a 1µm level, control oil temperature and automate sludge handling.

Abanaki's SS mighty mini

The SS mighty mini is ideal for removing oil from machining centers and parts washers. The portable unit can service multiple parts washers and coolant sumps, avoiding the expense of multiple units. The belt picks up the oil, which is then scraped from both sides by dual wiper blades at a rate of up to 2 gph (7.6 lph).
