SW North America demos fully automated, independent machining center

Kirk Stewart, general manager of sales and life services for SW North America Inc., shows off the company's BA 322i machining center — a fully automated, independent manufacturing cell from the floor of EASTEC 2021 in Springfield, Massachussetts. Jasper Engines & Transmissions

Jasper Engines & Transmissions sought to increase productivity to keep up with production requirements while reducing scrap, the Jasper, Indiana, company turned to the Mazak Corp. for a solution using a horizontal machining center with a two-pallet changer and an automatic tool changer that can accommodate long boring tools. Mazak then featured Jasper Engines & Transmissions in a "Real Shops, Real Results" video report, which is provided here as a video supplement to the Productive Times article published in the February 2022 issue of Cutting Tool Engineering magazine.
