Open Mind has added to the hyperMILL CAD/CAM suite: One of the world’s leading CAD/CAM solutions for satisfying the requirements of industrial 3D printing processes has been further complemented by hyperMILL ADDITIVE Manufacturing. As a universal software solution, hyperMILL – together with this option will provide efficient hybrid processing with simultaneous additive and subtractive processing on one single machine.

HCL Technologies announced the release of CAMWorks ShopFloor, which provides tools for companies to meet smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives, by moving beyond 2D drawings or static digital files. With CAMWorks ShopFloor, 3D digital models capture extensive data from the part design files and provide tools that machinists can utilize to produce parts with fewer miscommunications between the design and manufacturing departments.

In a collaborative effort to best enable 5-axis machining for users with Heidenhain TNC controls and Mastercam CAD/CAM software, a new collaborate post-processor is now available.Called the Heidenhain TNC 5X Mill post-processor, CNC Software Inc., developers of Mastercam software, introduced it after coordinating development efforts between the two companies. Collaboration also included beta testers and industry resellers in order to best meet the worldwide demand of providing a consistent, high-quality Heidenhain translation post.
