Three years ago, SCHUNK launched the slim hydraulic expansion toolholder TENDO Slim 4ax, which received great attention. Its precision mounting combines the outside geometry of heat shrinking mountings according to DIN 69882-8 with the proven qualities of SCHUNK hydraulic expansion technology. SCHUNK now launches a version with cool-flow technology that allows for highly effective cooling via tool mountings.

BIG KAISER has added inch standard sizes for the U.S. market to the production of its BIG-PLUS BBT30 basic arbors (shell mill holders, endmill holders, shrink fit and blanks). The expansion allows for enhancements to the BBT30 program that satisfy demands specific to the North American market.

The heavy-duty round reversible toolholder presets an insert parallel to the centerline of the shank and can be used as either right or left hand.

Vibrations, chatter marks, tool failure – what has so far robbed many a machine operator of sleep will soon be a thing of the past: With the smart iTENDO hydraulic expansion toolholder, SCHUNK and startup company TOOL IT present an intelligent toolholder that monitors the machining process directly at the tool, and allows real-time control of the cutting parameters.

New additions to JETI (Jetstream Integrated) tooling from Seco Tools eliminate coolant-through tooling and connector interference that hinders grooving, parting-off and other turning operations. With interference-free internal coolant capabilities and the option to switch the underside stream channel on and off as required, these expansions to the range of MDT (Multiple-Directional Turning) X4 (grooving and parting-off) and 150.10 (parting-off) toolholders add operational stability and reliability while they improve surface finishes.
