For the sixth year in a row, Corp! magazine named Seco Tools LLC one of "Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For," for providing a highly motivating and rewarding work experience to employees, the company said.

Seco, a Troy, Mich.-based toolmaker, makes recruiting and retaining talented employees a top priority, which is critical in a time when skilled workers within the manufacturing sector are at a premium. The company offers several programs to reward employees who are dedicated, responsible and creative. It also fosters an environment where employee input is encouraged, according to the company. Furthermore, the company says it provides comprehensive training, takes a solutions-oriented approach to product quality and innovation, and builds cross-functional teams.

"Seco is a great place to work because of our company culture," said Jennifer Ostroff, human resources manager. "Our values [such as] passion for our customer, personal commitment and a family spirit are more than words on a wall. They are lived every day by each team member , from our top executives to employees on the plant floor. Employees love the transparency of our corporate communication, and working with executives who eat alongside them in the lunchroom."

In addition to being honored for its best practices in human resources, Seco received its second consecutive honors from the magazine for being one of "101 Best and Brightest Sustainable Companies in Michigan" and "101 Best and Brightest in Wellness in Michigan." These awards recognize Seco for its efforts to minimize its environmental footprint and ensure the health of its employees.
