PTC announced that Fastems, a Finnish manufacturer of factory automation systems with North American headquarters in West Chester, Ohio, will integrate PTC ThingWorx technology into its flexible manufacturing systems. The new technology will facilitate remote systems monitoring and condition-based maintenance. These new service options will enable its customers to increase system uptime and production capacity.
Fastems views product up-time as vital for the success of its customers’ mission-critical businesses and consistently adhere to their own mission of enabling customers to get the most production possible out of the 8,760 hours available each year.
As of May 2016, Fastems has enabled the creation of new services by integrating the ThingWorx platform into its ICT systems portfolio. Through remote monitoring, service professionals will be able to diagnose and resolve potential issues and service all equipment. More uptime means lower costs and higher customer satisfaction.
“Fastems’ mission is to enable efficient and reliable production for our customers in the metal working industry,” said Janne Harri Kivinen, CIO at Fastems. ”With the implementation of ThingWorx, we can now offer customers new solutions and services that will allow them to enhance production, which in turn will lead to lower costs and increased production capacity. Customers and Fastems maintenance personnel will be able to keep an eye on operations from any location, whilst determining areas requiring service.”
“Fastems is leading the way in the IIoT,” said Filip Stal, director of Nordic sales, PTC. “As more devices become linked to the Internet, engineers and service personnel are able to see critical data in real time, optimize production and gain insight into areas of improvement, whilst improving time to value. We welcome the opportunity to be part of this technology advancement at Fastems.”
