Index Corp. hires Mark Smith

Mark SmithNoblesville, Indiana – INDEX has announced the hiring of Mark Smith as its regional sales manager for the Midwest. Mr. Smith’s territory includes Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan and he will be supporting customers in partnership with INDEX’s distributors in these states, Methods & Equipment Associates and Technical Equipment.

Mr. Smith has nearly 30 years of sales experience within the metal cutting industry, including significant stints at machine tool builders and distributors representing multi-spindle and Swiss product lines. He has also held positions at cutting tool providers and contract manufacturers, most recently Camcraft, a precision machined components provider. He is taking over territory previously managed by Pierre Michaud, who will be retiring in late 2019.

“Mark’s breadth of experience, especially in the area of multi-spindle machines, is an extremely valuable asset for our customers,” said Mike Huggett, national sales manager at INDEX. “We prioritize understanding the whole of our customers’ processes so that we can recommend and help them incorporate advanced technology that provides optimal results within the context of their existing operations. Over his career, Mark has built a foundation of knowledge that makes him a natural fit to this comprehensive approach.”

Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor’s Degree in business from Olivet College.
