General Carbide Corporation, in partnership with Westmoreland County Forum for Workforce Development; held an exclusive student tour at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
The April 17, 2024, event was a unique opportunity that provided students with an inside look into our operations, processes, and the myriad of career opportunities available in the manufacturing sector. The student tour aimed to bridge the gap between academics and the workforce with practical application by showcasing real-world scenarios and hands-on experiences within its facilities. Students had the chance to interact with its knowledgeable staff, witness cutting-edge technologies in action, and gain valuable insights into various roles within our organization.
During the tour, participants:
- Explored manufacturing processes from powder to polish.
- Learned about quality control measures and safety protocols implemented in our facility.
- Engaged in interactive sessions with our engineers and technicians to understand the technical aspects of our operations.
- Discovered diverse career pathways available in manufacturing, including engineering, operations management, quality assurance, and more.
- Gained inspiration and motivation for pursuing careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
