SoftInWay Inc. and OPEN MIND Technologies AG announce a cooperation agreement to provide a complete solution for the design, development and manufacturing of gas turbine components and other types of turbomachinery. Both companies reportedly provide component developers the needed productivity tools to accelerate the product development and production process while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

FANUC America has developed a new machining simulator that encompasses the complete manufacturing process from part design and engineering to CNC programming to virtual production simulation. The FANUC Machining Simulator features Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD/CAM/CAE software and a custom machining simulation program designed by ModuleWorks.

German Machine Tools of America (GMTA) offers a full line of Rasoma machining centers, including vertical turning centers, 4-axis shaft turning centers, end machining centers, double-spindle and various special-purpose machining centers with full automation is offered.

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence announced its new laser scanning technology is available for the portable Romer Absolute Arm with Integrated Scanner (SI) series. The RS4 scanner offers new optics and electronics, delivering a major performance leap with a scan rate nearly 60 percent faster than the previous model.

Controx-Neuhauser introduces its Decoring Cut tool, which both drills through honeycomb composite panels and undercuts the skins (thus removing the cores) in a single labor-saving step. A sophisticated end tooth design enables Decoring Cut to cut through the top skin while maintaining tight tolerances with no delamination.
