To help manufacturers enjoy benefits such as reduced cycle times and greater tool life when performing hard part turning, Sandvik Coromant has strengthened its existing offer in the ISO H05 to H15 application area with the introduction of two new grades: CB7105 and CB7115.

Walther Trowal offers a new generation of blast turbines for the troughed-belt, continuous-feed shot blast machines, type THM. These turbines increase the throwing speed and, thus, reduce cycle times for shot blasting of light metals like aluminum and magnesium.

OSG offers the new EXOCARB ADF flat drills. Machining a flat hole traditionally required the use of an endmill and a drill. The ADF drill enables one-step drilling to simplify machining time and tool management.

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Inc.'s WDX series large-diameter drill line now includes WDX-L coolant-through models. Reducing the cost per part, the WDX-L indexable drill features side port coolant. Because not all spindles are coolant-through, the WDX-L allows for the use of coolant through the side port.

Walter has expanded its successful DC170 Supreme internally cooled, solid-carbide drill with the introduction of two new sizes, the 25xDc and 30xDc. These sizes extend the drill line, aimed at ISO material groups P, K, and H, to new depths, while keeping the performance enhancing benefits of the DC170 line.

BIG KAISER Precision Tooling Inc. says the C-Cutter Mini enables milling at an ultrahigh feed rate. It offers a small cutting diameter and features a compact design that accepts four inserts, including ones as small as 0.197".

Allied Machine & Engineering says its line of replaceable-tip Original T-A drill systems significantly reduces downtime compared to solid tools. It is widely acknowledged within the manufacturing industry that PCD tools deliver excellent results when reaming nonferrous metals and abrasive plastics. Autodesk CAM software developer Delcam Ltd., working with toolmaker Technicut Ltd., has created a software and cutting tool combination for machining blisks that reportedly reduces machining time and costs about 50 percent compared to traditional methods.

The RM5 stainless steel roughing geometry from Walter USA LLC features guided twin-channel coolant targeted at the chip. This provides maximum cooling and enhanced tool life for machining ISO M stainless steels and ISO S high-temperature alloys, according to the company.
