Double-end chamfering machine

April 01, 2010

A double-end chamfering machine from J.F. Berns Co. Inc. accepts 0.100"- to 2.0"-dia, 4'- to 12'-long bars. The machine includes a bundle loader infeed and servocontrolled chamfer heads. They load up a bundle of material and it outputs both ends chamfered or chamfered and faced, depending on tooling. In addition, the company offers a centerless grinder feeder/unloader for 0.100"- to 2.0"-dia., 4'- to 12'-long bars. It is servo fed to match speed of centerless grinders. A user can fill up the infeed ramp and automatically loads bars end to end into the centerless grinder. The unloader pulls a gap with the finished bar and discharges it into a bundle strap accumulator.
