KeyCreator V12.6

July 01, 2014

K2D-KeyToData GmbH announced the availability of KeyCreators latest version V12.6. KeyCreator is a solution that connects 2D/3D data and the manufacturing process. KeyCreator is known for its easy to use tools for construction, manufacturing, development and shop floor.

With the new version 12.6 the animation of designs for a better visualization and demonstration is possible for the first time. Selected solids-based entities can be assigned a motion speed along or around an axis. Animation temporarily draws the movement in the KeyCreator viewport while the user maintains full access to standard zoom, pan, and rotate controls so the motion can be viewed from any angle. Collisions between bodies, respecting assigned constraints, appropriately exchange kinetic energy and approximate the real world result of such impact/contact.

Another highlight is the new "Direct Dimension Edit Tree" that lists saved dimension-driven edit commands and pairs highlighting of each command with its dimension and set of related faces. This saves time and errors when the same dimension-driven edit operations are re-executed later. Users with basic programming experience can use the Direct Dimension Edit Tree variables, formulas, and conditional logic capabilities as a limited model configuration tool.

KeyCreator V12.6 includes interoperability updates for Inventor and Parasolid. Smaller optimization proposals of established KeyCreator customers were also implemented successfully.

"We are enthusiastic about these new functions, especially the animation feature convinced us right from the beginning," says Jochen Layer, CEO of K2D. "The customer-driven improvements show clearly how Kubotek respond to its customers with our support."
