Cast iron drilling has taken a significant step forward with an expanded insert range for new diameters in the high-speed Color Select P6005-WKK45C grade for Xtra·tec B401x point drills. These new inserts are available in diameters up to 1.50 in. (37.99 mm). With this expansion, the grade specially developed by Walter for machining cast iron can now be used to drill all holes from 0.47 to 1.50 in. (12 to 37.99 mm) in diameter at depths up to 7×Dc and holes from 0.71 to 1.02 in. (18 to 25.80 mm) in diameter at hole depths up to 10×Dc.

The SA system from Arno USA is a modular grooving system with a single toolholder, which turns into different tool variants by simply changing the support blade and clamp.

Midwest Industrial Tool Grinding Inc. has released the newest edition of the standard tool catalog. The largest edition published by MITGI, the catalog includes more than 8,700 tools, an increase of 57 percent over the 2015 offering.

Abrasive Technology's DualForce fluting wheels are manufactured using the company's proprietary, controlled-structure process, which creates space between the abrasive particles, for a freer-cutting, low power-consuming wheel that withstands cutting forces generated when grinding carbide and high-speed steel. These wheels maintain high grind ratios for holding wheel shape, form and size with lower wheel wear and higher carbide removal when operators run multiple machines or lights out.
