Performance at the highest level
With over 3,000 new products in inch sizes, Walter has expanded its industry leading line of solid carbide milling tools. The newest lineup of tools provide cost-efficiency for different milling processes including slotting, ramping, roughing and finishing. With unique geometries and improved coatings, there are tools for all applications and all materials.
Nakanishi E-speed Ultra Precision Electric Spindles
Nakanishi E-speed from NSK America Corp. is a broad line of high-speed, ultra-precision, electric-motor spindles for lathes, robotics and specialty purpose machines. Utilizing DC brushless motors up to 80,000 rpm and less than 1 micron runout, E-speed has the right configuration for your micromachining needs, whether it be integral, modular or quick-tool change. The E-speed family consists of E2000, E3000 and E4000 motor spindles.
Pionex taps by Guhring
The new generation of threading tools — with new features that offer high-performance machining and outstanding tool life. Cut taps and form taps — Pionex offers universal application in a wide variety of materials.
Solid-carbide tool manufacturer standardizes on grinding software
TN Vaerktoejsslibning, Denmark's second-largest precision tooling company, is deploying NUMROTO, the programming system for tool grinding from NUM, across its entire production floor. The company cites highly successful long-term experience of the software, together with excellent technical support from NUM, as the key reasons for choosing to standardize on NUMROTO.
Full Stainless Steel Ball Lock Pins
The full stainless steel ball lock pins and handles come in a variety of configurations: button, ring, nautical and domed versions. The quick release pins are available in a variety of lengths and diameters from 3/16 to 1/2 in. nominal diameter and 5 mm to 16 mm nominal diameter with shanks made from both 17-4 and 300 series stainless steel.
VOXLS 40 C 450
Nikon emphasizes that the VOXLS 40 C 450 is just the first of a next generation of X-ray CT systems of similar construction, featuring a single-piece cabinet, the same metrology-grade manipulator concept, Nikon's unique microfocus X-ray sources, and extensive CT acquisition technologies. The upcoming models will broaden the range even further to provide users with more options that will not only meet their immediate business and technical requirements, but will also help them to identify new opportunities and raise operational efficiency.
450kV Microfocus Inspection Systems
Two variants are available. The VOXLS 30 C 450 is ideal for inspecting tall samples such as a large turbine blade. The VOXLS 30 M 450 is defined by its ability to be equipped with an internal autoloader for holding multiple samples. They may be scanned without operator intervention, freeing up personnel for other duties and facilitating unattended operation overnight and at the weekend, resulting in a big increase in productivity. In combination with external robotic handling and the Nikon Automation OPC UA Interface, both systems are compatible with fully automatic, closed-loop inspection at high speed in a Quality 4.0 production line environment.
225kV X-ray CT Systems
Powered by a Nikon 225kV microfocus source, the innovative systems feature the company's Rotating.Target 2.0, which is unique in the industrial sector. It results in high resolution X-ray images to enable even the smallest defects inside an object to be identified quickly, easily, and non-destructively. Speed of operation is enhanced using Nikon's extensive CT acquisition technologies and reconstruction algorithms, making the systems ideal for automated inspection applications on the shop floor.
Developing a dunnage bag system using heat-sealable paper
In an age of online shopping and mass production, distribution centers are on the rise. Naturally, the amount of packaging is also increasing, and a practical solution is needed to close the loop of recycling so much waste. One major tool distribution company in the Midwest has found its own "circular economy" answer to this problem by using EcoShield Heat Sealable Paper to recycle used boxes into dunnage bags.
Ask CTE Contributors about rough turning steel
Martin Dillaman, global manager of engineering/applications for Greenleaf Corp., recaps and takes questions regarding "Making the Grade," a feature article published in the April 2023 issue of Cutting Tool Engineering magazine that discusses how the use of the right carbide inserts helps overcome any issues that might arise when rough turning steel.
P6006 Indexable Inserts
Ideal for holemaking without a pilot drill up to 10×Dc, the inserts provide time savings that boost productivity. The inserts were designed to achieve maximum tool life in stable machining conditions thanks to the wear resistant WPP25 grade with HIPIMS technology. The grade has a particularly hard and robust substrate to extend tool life.
Five ways colorful PPE makes a difference
With a market full of PPE options, choosing the right safety gear isn't always an easy task. Plus, finding safe, comfortable PPE that workers will want to wear is more important than ever as the Occupational Health & Safety Administration continues to increase fines.
