Gear shop modernizes with shrink-fit technology

Boulevard Machine & Gear, a gear-cutting shop founded in 1954 to serve the paper industry in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, began a period of modernization and investment with the 2006 acquisition of the company by Susan Kasa. Kasa’s focus was to grow the company and become more efficient. One issue of concern dealt with completing certain machining jobs with conventional side-lock and collet holders. To solve this problem, the company invested in a Haimer Power Clamp Special Edition shrink fit machine, Haimer Standard Shrink chucks, Haimer Power Shrink chucks and extensions.

Precision manufacturer invests in grinding and filtration technology

Kratzer GmbH & Co. is a Offenburg, Germany-based precision manufacturer of components made from a wide range of materials that must meet the exacting standards required by its high-tech cuustomers. The company meets these specifications in part through investing in state-of-the-art equipment including grinding machines, machining centers, lathes, metrology equipment. Recently, the company invested in new grinding technology as well as a new filtration system.

Forest City Gear Co. donates $3,100 to Rockford Rescue Mission

ROSCOE, IL (May 5, 2020) - Forest City Gear Co. is proud to announce that its employees have raised $1,300 to support Rockford Rescue Mission’s efforts to respond to the increased need brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Forest City Gear committed to match employee donations dollar for dollar, raising the total for this most recent fundraiser to $2,600. That tally, combined with a previous donation of $500 from the company, brings the total amount of Forest City Gear’s donations to Rockford Rescue Mission to $3,100 to date.
