Westec 2023 Booth Visit with ARCH Cutting Tools

ARCH Cutting Tools highlighted its RECON360 service program at its booth during Westec 2023 in Long Beach, California. Just over a year old, RECON360 offers to:

restore solid round tools and indexable cutting tool bodies to OEM or new condition,
braze new carbide, CBN, PCD or ceramic edges on inserts and round tools,
reapply coating to tools,
regrind worn areas on inserts and solid round cutting tools,
resize inserts or solid round tools.

Designed for CNC machining, Heule’s BSF (Back Spot Facer) tool is an economical backwards spotfacing and counterboring tool that allows machining of large spotfaces and counterbores up to 2.3xd without turning the work piece over. BSF Back Spotfacing Tool

HEULE's BSF tool is for automated high-volume back spot facing applications. The BSF tool, suitable for counterbores up to 2.3 times diameter and ranging in size from 6.5mm to 20.5mm (0.256” to 0.807”), is sold standard-stock, shipped the next day from the Cincinnati warehouse.

Autofacer Automatic Back Boring and Back Spotfacing Tools

The Autofacer from Steiner Technologies Inc. is a tool that allows the machinist to reach through a hole and machine a circular feature on the back side of the part automatically. By circular feature we might mean a spot face, counter bore, countersink, chamfer, spherical radius, or some combination thereof. This is accomplished by folding the cutting blade into the shaft of the tool body allowing the tool to pass into the part.
