Software provides significant time and cost savings

Founded in 1976 by George McNab to serve the growing demand for precision aerospace components, Mac Machine Company Inc. has since expanded its manufacturing capabilities to serve the defense, commercial aircraft, and medical diagnostics and implant industries. Mac Machine provides clients like Honeywell, Northrup Grummon, Sandia National Laboratories, and Zimmer Medical with a variety of precision parts, assemblies and weldments, all designed and produced at its 20,000-sq-ft facility in Baltimore, Maryland.

High performance endmill exceeds shop's expectations

ARCH Cutting Tools, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, recently visited with Quality Machine & Repair Inc., Hartville, Ohio, to learn more about the company's decision to use Patriot High Performance™ endmills for a small run of complex parts made of a flame-hardened 4140 steel with a crust in the 50 Rockwell range. The company ordered 16 endmills for the job, but only needed two.

Need for personal protective equipment launches nonprofit manufacturing firm

[Waterbury, CT – April 29, 2020] Design Engineer Glen Dobbs has talent, curiosity, resourcefulness and – perhaps the most important attribute of all – a big heart. He is president and CEO of LoganTech, a manufacturer of several lines of communications devices for nonverbal and visually impaired individuals. In his spare time, he’s been crystallizing the idea of establishing a separate nonprofit entity called Human Solutions Tech LLC to broaden the scope of the work to include other devices to fill unmet, specific needs. Two months ago, he thought that the COVID-19 crisis would halt the work he’d been putting in to the new organization, but the crisis didn’t. It accelerated that work.
