DeepTri-Drill is designed to provide productivity and application security for drilling deep holes on standard machining centers and CNC boring machines, while ensuring easy tool management by eliminating the need for regrinding. The insert features chip splitters that allows effective chip evacuations enabling extremely high feed rates during deep hole drilling in various materials.

Drilling flat-bottom holes is a challenge. So is drilling on inclined or curved surfaces, drilling into cross holes, drilling stacked plates, and drilling into cross holes, stacked plates and castings and other rough surfaces. Not anymore. Leveraging the success of its KenTIP FS modular drill, Kennametal has developed a unique insert geometry (FEG) that streamlines many of these types of applications and simplifies the drilling of counterbores and pilot holes as well.

Dream Drills Pro tools are made with micrograin carbide for exceptional core strength and longer tool life. They also feature YG-1’s unique, wave-shaped cutting edge to reduce cutting forces, and an advanced, wide-flute design optimized for faster, reliable chip evacuation. A self-centering 140° point angle reduces torque and extends tool life. 

The Nirox geometry has a degressive helix angle equal to 30 degrees at the point and is designed for accurate and precise hole location up to 9xD. A modern, TiAlSiN based coating allows for enhanced chip and coolant evacuation in difficult to machine and adhesive materials, such as titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, hardened steel and CoCr alloys.
