Endmills

RF Diver Solid-Carbide Endmills

The RF 100 Diver family of high-performance, solid-carbide endmills from Guhring Inc. are capable of plunging and extreme ramping in alloy steel, cast iron and aluminum. The Diver is a variable-helix, 4-flute endmill with a special face geometry for drilling up to 2 diameters deep and ramping up to a 45° plunge angle.

SuperTuf-V Endmills

Regal Cutting Tools has developed a variable-helix endmill that minimizes deflection and reduces vibration. This tool can be run at heavy feed rates to outperform carbide at half the cost when milling titanium, stainless steel and nickel-base superalloys, according to the company.

Monolith

Monolith extended-reach endmills from Ultra-Tool International Inc. have overall lengths up to 12" (304.8mm); runout at that length is 0.0003" (0.0076mm). SmoothFlute variable-helix, 5-flute, 45°-helix and roughing styles are available, as well as 2- and 3-flute tools for cutting aluminum.

Miniature carbide endmills

Microcut Inc.’s line of miniature carbide endmills are from 0.002" to 0.125" (0.051mm to 3.175mm) in diameter and are available with long shanks and long reaches. The company offers AlTiN- and diamond-coated endmills and special rotary cutting tools, including thread mills, keyseat cutters, double-angle cutters, microdrills, spotting drills and dovetail cutters.

ADDER universal endmills

Cobra Carbide Inc.’s ADDER universal endmills have a 40° helix and a variable-flute geometry. According to the company, the endmills enable chatter-free milling in hard, ferrous materials and impart fine surface finishes. The coatings reportedly allow users to dramatically increase feeds and speeds, take deeper DOCs and extend tool life.

TuffCut XT

High performance cutting tool manufacturer M.A. Ford Mfg. Co. Inc., Davenport, Iowa, recently expanded its TuffCut® XT high performance Series 278 endmill product offering. More than 400 product line items have been added to include additional lengths of cut, corner radii and Weldon flat options. The corner radius offering is said to meet the needs of the aerospace manufacturing industry.

XPV series carbide endmills

Supermill LLC’s XPV series carbide endmills are for roughing and finishing titanium alloys. The XPVS series tools are for roughing and finishing steel and stainless steel alloys. The 4-flute endmills feature a full eccentric relief, sharp or radius corners, an AlCrN coating and variable helix, variable pitch and progressive rake angles. Standard diameters are from 1⁄8" to 1" (3.175mm to 25.4mm).

Emuge-Franken Endmills

Emuge Corp. offers an extensive line of high-performance solid-carbide endmills for applications ranging from universal milling to aerospace and high hardness machining. The endmills, branded Emuge-Franken, are the result of extensive R&D and incorporate the latest in endmill technology, geometry and coatings and are designed to outperform conventional endmill offerings.
