Laser Scanning Technology

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence announced its new laser scanning technology is available for the portable Romer Absolute Arm with Integrated Scanner (SI) series. The RS4 scanner offers new optics and electronics, delivering a major performance leap with a scan rate nearly 60 percent faster than the previous model.

Powermill Machine Center

The large Powermill machining center from Mecof, part of EMCO Group, provides users precision, high dynamics, operational flexibility, and cost-effectiveness in a massive travelling gantry 5-axis milling center. Powermill with its moving bridge structure, permits loading of large, heavy workpieces on the stationary work table from overhead or from either end of the machine, making it ideal for handling aerospace components.

SS207-5AX LaserSwiss

Tsugami Automation and Tsugami/Rem Sales offer their newest LaserSwiss, an SS207-5AX LaserSwiss with an integrated welding system. The 20 mm, 7-axis CNC machine integrates two SPI laser systems, one for cutting operations and a second one for welding.

Decoring Cut Tool

Controx-Neuhauser introduces its Decoring Cut tool, which both drills through honeycomb composite panels and undercuts the skins (thus removing the cores) in a single labor-saving step. A sophisticated end tooth design enables Decoring Cut to cut through the top skin while maintaining tight tolerances with no delamination.

Cutting Tool Grinding and Reconditioning Services

Emuge Corp. has introduced tool grinding and reconditioning services based out of the company’s North American headquarters in West Boylston, Mass. A clean, new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Emuge is now equipped with the latest technology CNC grinding machines and inspection equipment, providing tool reconditioning for U.S. and Canadian customers for Emuge taps, drills and endmills, in addition to other brands of carbide drills and endmills.
