RS-Squared Area Scanner

Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division launched the RS-Squared Area Scanner for the Absolute Arm – pairing for the first time an area scanner with a portable measurement arm. Designed for high-speed scanning of simple shapes and surfaces, the RS-Squared can measure parts faster than conventional laser scanners and even other structured light scanners.

HB400 Benchtop Optical Comparator

The L.S. Starrett Co. has expanded the horizontal X-axis travel on its HB400 benchtop optical comparator from 12" to 16" (300mm to 400mm), providing users the versatility to measure larger parts on its workstage. Available with optical edge detection, the HB400 model is a workhorse of the broad line of Starrett comparators, providing performance levels previously only available with floor standing machines.

TubeShaper v2 Tube Design, Analysis and Production Platform

Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division announced an update to its tube design, analysis and production platform TubeShaper. This new version delivers important new functionalities to customers in tube and pipe manufacturing, including inspection of rectangle-section tubes and new reporting functionality. TubeShaper v2 also offers an innovative new licensing concept that makes it more economical for multiple users to share measurement results and bending plans across different locations.

CNC Probing Recorder Software Package

Marposs introduces the CNC Probing Recorder software package — an automatic measurement, report and process control acquisition system for statistically analyzing measurement results using Marposs’ optical and radio touch probes. The software is designed to analyze production processes, allowing prompt, corrective actions to be taken to prevent production of low-quality workpieces.

OEM Factory Calibration of Laser Trackers

API Services’ ISO 17025-accredited laser tracker calibration facilities provide OEM factory calibration of laser trackers at its Newport News, Virginia; Rockville, Maryland; and Plymouth, Michigan, facilities. In 2019, API calibrated more than 200 laser trackers. A special program of advanced scheduling minimizes tracker customer downtime and an optional laser tracker loaner program keeps customers measuring while the tracker is undergoing its annual calibration.
