SINUMERIK ONE

The CNCs are integrated in the digital twin of SINUMERIK ONE (Run MyVirtual Machine), so that the appearance and operation correspond to the real control in every respect. In addition, the digital twin has been equipped with new features that simplify engineering and work preparation. Examples of the many innovations include a 3D option that offers support for a second channel, often used for robotic integration.

Éncy

The AI wizard is called Éncy (pronounced like [ˈɛnsɪ]) and it greets the user with the following message: “Hi, I’m Éncy, your SprutCAM X AI assistant. Ask away, and I’ll be happy to help!” The AI assistant is powered by the OpenAI API, which uses deep learning models to understand and generate natural language. Engineers can communicate with the AI assistant using text commands in multiple languages, and the AI assistant responds accordingly.

Vibration Cutting Control

Through use of the M8 Series CNC with VCC, the tool axis vibration breaks up the long strands of material that is expelled from the part being produced. This extra functionality speeds up processes, reduces cycle times, and provides a better finish on the part being produced.

Kennametal Tool Library for Mastercam

Mastercam developers worked closely with Kennametal to enable users to import data on their most versatile and high-performance cutting tools, including GOdrillTM and Kenna UniversalTM solid carbide drills and a selection of HARVITM and KORTM end mills directly into Mastercam. The integration allows Mastercam customers to save significant time searching for desired tools and building tool assemblies.

IMSce for Mastercam

The solution enables Mastercam users to simulate and verify G-code including controller variables, subprograms, expressions and canned cycles for a wide range of machine tools before the workpiece is mounted on the machine.

CNC Machining Service

Users can upload a 3D CAD model for machining on protolabs.com to access the expanded options inside Protolabs’ online quoting platform, which are then fulfilled by Protolabs’ digital factories or one of its digitally enabled manufacturing partners. All of the advanced machining capabilities are now live and available to customers.

ModuleWorks 2022.12

For multi-axis subtractive machining, there is a new option to preview the automatically detected deburr edges before calculating the toolpath. Users can also include/exclude drive curves in/from the toolpath calculation to speed up programming. The rotary machining component now offers a floor finishing cycle to complete the ModuleWorks basic finishing portfolio of wall and floor finishing.

CAMWorks Barrel Tool Support

Barrel tool support was added in direct response to CAMWorks customer feedback and is beneficial for mold makers and manufacturers of complex parts in industries such as automotive and aerospace. As demand increases for lightweight components with higher surface finishes, barrel tools are leveraged by machine shops to improve productivity and surface finish of machined parts.
