Emuge Corp. has introduced its patented Punch Tap Line in North America. The Emuge Punch Tap is for helical thread forming in cast and wrought aluminum alloys and similar lightweight materials. Emuge Punch Taps provide a new, shortened tool path process for producing internal threads in under half a second, resulting in significantly less energy consumption during the machining process and a reduction in threading time by 75 percent compared to cold forming and conventional tapping.

North American Tool Corp. has introduced a new line of standard solid-carbide thread mills. These thread mills feature a helical flute design and are manufactured from premium micrograin carbide for increased life and improved thread quality in a variety of materials. Straight-flute tools are available as specials.

Constructed of rugged MT8 carbide with Carmex’s exclusive BLU coating, the new FMT thread mill delivers accurate thread geometry and fine surface quality in short cycle times. Unlike conventional taps, the FMT can thread up to the bottom of a blind-hole while delivering the high reliability necessary for complex parts.

Emuge Corp. has announced its thread making tool quality is available in a Self-Lock integrated locking system. Emuge Self-Lock threading tools offer a high-quality alternative in thread locking for vital safety applications in a variety of industries.

The CoroThread 266 thread turning tool from Sandvik Coromant is available with precision over- and under-coolant to improve process security and maximize efficiency. The addition of over-coolant improves chip formation for more secure machining, while under-coolant controls temperature for long and predictable tool life. Precision coolant also has positive effects on surface finish, supporting the generation of high-quality threads.

Walter has expanded the range of its innovative T2711/T2712 thread milling cutter family for cutting large threads with two new tool bodies for the M56 and M64 threads and three new thread milling cutter inserts. Walter's multiple-row T2711/T2712 thread milling cutter family, which can increase productivity for some applications by as much as 90 percent, can now be used for all dimensions in the coarse-pitch thread range.

Allied Machine & Engineering adds the AccuThread T3 to their existing thread mill line. The new AccuThread T3 is built for machining hardened or hard-to-machine materials, such as stainless steel, tool steel and high-temperature alloys.
