Now in its fourth year, the Big Daishowa Tools for Schools program continues to invest in the next generation of manufacturers. This year, the program awarded tooling certificates totaling $51,000 to technical schools selected by Big Daishowa customers. This brings the program’s cumulative impact to nearly $120,000 in donated tooling certificates.

At the end of January, Bystronic completed the acquisition of the Tools for Materials Processing division of the US company Coherent Corp. With this acquisition, Bystronic plans to expand into several growth markets such as medical technology and semiconductors.

Maren Fleming has been named as head of TruServices at Trumpf Inc., effective as of January 1, 2026. In her new role, Fleming oversees the organization of Trumpf's proactive aftersales technology and solution-oriented services for machine tool customers throughout North America.

Shipments of cutting tools, measured by the Cutting Tool Market Report, a collaboration between AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology and the U.S. Cutting Tool Institute (USCTI), totaled $206.1 million in November 2025. Orders decreased 17.6% from October 2025 but were up 9.9% from November 2024.
