NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — Supfina Machine Company, Inc., a provider of high-precision abrasive machining equipment, solutions, and services, has appointed Laura Leuper as an Applications Engineer.  In her new role, Leuper is responsible for developing abrasive machining processes for Supfina’s customers in the automotive, bearing, and metalworking industries.  She will also work closely with her colleagues at Supfina’s plant in Wolfach, Germany.

Leuper graduated from the University of Rhode Island in May 2018 with dual degrees — a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in German — that she earned through participation in the school’s five-year International Engineering Program.  This included a year abroad studying at the Technische Universität Braunschweig as well as working for Beinbauer Automotive in Büchlberg, Germany.

With locations in the United States, Germany, and China, Supfina’s product lineup includes machinery and devices for superfinishing as well as flat-surface machining, double-disk grinding, and now — with its Spiro F5, F7, and F12 machines — fine grinding.
