FastLap facing device

September 01, 2010

Utilizing a single-point tool, Engis Corp.'s FastLap facing device brings plate flatness to within a micron and can machine a custom groove pattern in a second pass, according to the company. Maintaining lapping plate flatness helps ensure a stable, repeatable process. The facing device helps establish a process that consistently achieves accurate plate conditioning, controlled surface geometry and the required texture.
