Spectronics Corp.'s SB-100P Series UV-A (365 nm) lamps are "workhorses" for NDT inspections, and meet ASTM UV-A intensity and wavelength specifications for MPI and FPI. The lamps are available in concentrated spot and diffused versions. The concentrated spot SB-100P has a nominal steady-state UV-A (365 nm) intensity of 4,800 µW/cm² at 15 inches (38 cm).
The lamp head and transformer base housing are constructed of a special heat-resistant engineering polymer that ensures years of rugged use. Ergonomically designed, the lamp head detaches easily from the transformer base to allow for effortless, fatigue-free inspection.
Both CE-approved models have a special heat-resistant, 3-wire secondary cord. The primary and secondary cords are both 8 feet (2.4 m) long. They are also available with extended length or secondary cords, or with a 35 foot (10.7 m) secondary cord housed in a retractable "flying reel." The lamps come complete with UV-absorbing spectacles.
