E. Zoller GmbH & Co. KG, Pleidelsheim, Germany,  has partnered with Machining Cloud GmbH, Stans, Switzerland, on the new Machining Cloud Intelligent Manufacturing application, a platform that offers applications, resources, services and information from a centralized database. Machining Cloud can  advise parts manufacturers regarding best practices specific to each manufacturing process, according to the company.

Zoller's tool management software suite, which includes tool management, warehouse management, and  manufacturing organization module, is now available on Machining Cloud.

Like all cloud-based applications, Machining Cloud uses a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data. Whereas traditional computing entails storing, managing and processing data on local servers or personal computers, cloud computing offers readily accessible information, whenever and wherever it's needed.

Machining Cloud connects manufacturers to manufacturing information within a single platform. Manufacturers have access to numerous analytical tools to manage processes and optimize specific cutting applications, as well as the ability to order the components needed. Users can view and download virtual machine tools, workholding components, tooling assemblies and other related equipment. Machining Cloud also eliminates the need to access paper catalogues and consult multiple Web sites to find and purchase the proper components for a  job.

Because information provided by Machining Cloud can be directly connected to CAD/CAM, simulation and tool management software, Machining Cloud data is automatically imported and accessible to generatef shop-floor documentation and properly formatted tool lists.
