Airline industry lifts manufacturing

Industrial Info Resources, a market research company based in Sugar Land, Texas, reported Aug. 5 that demand for aircraft parts has helped give rise to U.S. manufacturing plant expansions. 

"Expansion of plants that manufacture aircraft parts and auxiliary equipment are on the rise in the U.S. due to increasing sales of commercial airplanes by industry leaders," the group observes on its subscription-based website. Among the industry leaders cited by the group are The Boeing Co., Chicago, and Embraer, Sao Jose does Campos, Brazil. 

The report from Industrial Info Resources tracks 51 expansion projects valued at $3.3 billion that all involve U.S. aircraft parts and auxiliary equipment parts manufacturing plants. To view the complete report, a subscription to the Industrial Info Resources website is required.
