VICTOGRAIN High-Performance Abrasive Grain

PFERD has introduced VICTOGRAIN, a new high-performance abrasive grain whose design features make it one of the most effective abrasives in the world. Its precision-formed abrasive grain triangles are identical in shape and size. Their cutting edges are applied to the workpiece at the optimal angle so that each individual grain needs little energy to penetrate the workpiece.

As a result, VICTOGRAIN delivers a fast and efficient machining process, a long service life, reduced heat buildup, and a consistent surface finish, making it superior to conventional ceramic grains. In addition, since less energy is required to machine with VICTOGRAIN, its characteristic high-performance can be achieved even on commercially available angle grinders.

Each VICTOGRAIN abrasive grain triangle is firmly fixed on one of its sides to the backing material. Due to the slim design, VICTOGRAIN offers an extremely large chip space for maximum cutting efficiency. The structure of the triangular VICTOGRAIN is specially engineered to maximize results. The very fine crystalline structure ensures optimal wear as sharp cutting edges are always exposed, with the minimum amount of abrasive breaking off from the triangle.

VICTOGRAIN products are available in a range of dimensions and in the following product lines: COMBICLICK fiber discs, fiber discs, COMBIDISC abrasive discs, and CC-GRIND-SOLID grinding discs.

    abrasive

Substance used for grinding, honing, lapping, superfinishing and polishing. Examples include garnet, emery, corundum, silicon carbide, cubic boron nitride and diamond in various grit sizes.

  • backing

    backing

    1. Flexible portion of a bandsaw blade. 2. Support material behind the cutting edge of a tool. 3. Base material for coated abrasives.

  • grinding

    grinding

Machining operation in which material is removed from the workpiece by a powered abrasive wheel, stone, belt, paste, sheet, compound, slurry, etc. Takes various forms: surface grinding (creates flat and/or squared surfaces); cylindrical grinding (for external cylindrical and tapered shapes, fillets, undercuts, etc.); centerless grinding; chamfering; thread and form grinding; tool and cutter grinding; offhand grinding; lapping and polishing (grinding with extremely fine grits to create ultrasmooth surfaces); honing; and disc grinding.
