Pentagonal Adapters with 5 Pockets for Tang-Grip and for Slim-Grip (GFT) Inserts

ISCAR is expanding its parting line by adding pentagonal adapters with 5 pockets for TAG 2 & 3mm widths and GFT (Slim Grip) 1.2-1.6mm

TANG5GRIG for TANG-GRIP (TAG) Inserts

A new family of tools and economical 5 pocket adapters for existing TANG-GRIP inserts in sizes of 2 and 3mm. These new adapters will allow parting applications of bar diameters up to Ø45mm.

A new SLIM-GRIP 1.2-1.6mm inserts for a pentagonal adapter suitable for parting up to 22mm bar diameter.

TANG5GRIG Features:

  • Economical adapters with 5 pockets for TANG-GRIP and SLIM-GRIP inserts
  • No setup time after pocket replacement
  • Unique product, door opener for parting applications
  • The back of the adapters is designed with “V” shape geometry (wedge effect) to ensure maximum clamping forces and tool stability
  • Several adapters can be clamped on one holder
  • The tools and adapters are designed for JET-CUT cooling up to 340 Bar
  • Saves raw material due to the narrow SLIM-GRIP insert widths - 1.2mm & 1.6 mm

Related Glossary Terms

  • coolant

    coolant

Fluid that reduces temperature buildup at the tool/workpiece interface during machining. Normally takes the form of a liquid such as soluble or chemical mixtures (semisynthetic, synthetic) but can be pressurized air or other gas. Because of water’s ability to absorb great quantities of heat, it is widely used as a coolant and vehicle for various cutting compounds, with the water-to-compound ratio varying with the machining task. See cutting fluid; semisynthetic cutting fluid; soluble-oil cutting fluid; synthetic cutting fluid.

  • gang cutting ( milling)

    gang cutting ( milling)

Machining with several cutters mounted on a single arbor, generally for simultaneous cutting.

  • grooving

    grooving

Machining grooves and shallow channels. Example: grooving ball-bearing raceways. Typically performed by tools that are capable of light cuts at high feed rates. Imparts high-quality finish.

  • parting

    parting

When used in lathe or screw-machine operations, this process separates a completed part from chuck-held or collet-fed stock by means of a very narrow, flat-end cutting, or parting, tool.
