ISCAR is expanding the range of MINCUT inserts and tools for face grooving and turning in a diameter range of 10 to 34mm, for up to 9mm grooving depth. The MIFR 10.. inserts are screw-clamped into a long pocket of the MIFHR ... bars, with a very rigid clamping, resulting in prolonged tool life and enabling high machining parameters.
Internal coolant hole, directed to the cutting edge
Can be used for grooving in deep holes
Uninterrupted chip flow on the insert rake
Can also be used for rotating applications
Standard inserts are available in 2.0 to 3.0mm widths made from IC908 grade and special widths can be ordered on request within this range.
Fluid that reduces temperature buildup at the tool/workpiece interface during machining. Normally takes the form of a liquid such as soluble or chemical mixtures (semisynthetic, synthetic) but can be pressurized air or other gas. Because of water’s ability to absorb great quantities of heat, it is widely used as a coolant and vehicle for various cutting compounds, with the water-to-compound ratio varying with the machining task. See cutting fluid; semisynthetic cutting fluid; soluble-oil cutting fluid; synthetic cutting fluid.
Machining grooves and shallow channels. Example: grooving ball-bearing raceways. Typically performed by tools that are capable of light cuts at high feed rates. Imparts high-quality finish.
Angle of inclination between the face of the cutting tool and the workpiece. If the face of the tool lies in a plane through the axis of the workpiece, the tool is said to have a neutral, or zero, rake. If the inclination of the tool face makes the cutting edge more acute than when the rake angle is zero, the rake is positive. If the inclination of the tool face makes the cutting edge less acute or more blunt than when the rake angle is zero, the rake is negative.
Workpiece is held in a chuck, mounted on a face plate or secured between centers and rotated while a cutting tool, normally a single-point tool, is fed into it along its periphery or across its end or face. Takes the form of straight turning (cutting along the periphery of the workpiece); taper turning (creating a taper); step turning (turning different-size diameters on the same work); chamfering (beveling an edge or shoulder); facing (cutting on an end); turning threads (usually external but can be internal); roughing (high-volume metal removal); and finishing (final light cuts). Performed on lathes, turning centers, chucking machines, automatic screw machines and similar machines.
Two coolant through tools with top and bottom outlets for output pressure of up to 340 bars.
Significantly improves insert tool life. Quick, change fast and easy adapter indexing. User-friendly with a single clamping screw. No set-up time after blade or pocket indexing. Can be used next to…
The CHAM-IQ-DRILL design body is produced from special steel for high durability and a special stopper prevents the drilling head from being extracted upwards from the pocket. Long stoppers provide high resistance to cutting forces, enabling applications under very high cutting conditions. …
The DCN drills feature cylindrical shanks, which enable clamping of the drill in hydraulic toolholders (most recommended) or in spring collets. All drill bodies feature helical coolant holes. Prior to using the 12xD drill, it is recommended to drill a pre-hole by using a DCN 1.5xD drill or a…
The double-sided CXMG inserts operate similarly to CCMT positive inserts and can therefore replace standard CCMT inserts. In some applications, they can also replace standard negative CNMG inserts.
Double-sided with a positive flank. Low cutting forces. Designed with a chipformer for general…
These inserts have 4 types of cutting geometries for machining different materials under diverse cutting conditions: T - Steel, ferritic and martensitic stainless steel, cast iron and hardened steel. HP - Austenitic stainless steel and high temperature alloys. RM-T - Interrupted cut for machining…
High positive cutter pocket inclination. Rigid clamping due to dovetail pocket design secured by clamping screws. Coarse and fine pitch cutter configurations. Coolant holes directed to every insert on the cutters. Precise double-sided square insert. Eight cutting edges – each edge comprises a…
Deep drills with a 3 cutting edged insert (other manufacturers only offer inserts with 1 or 2 cutting edges). Highly accurate peripherally ground insert, provides high hole diameter accuracy of IT10.
The chip splitter produces narrow chips for efficient chip evacuation, enabling high feed…
The Pentacut HP Jet line from Iscar Metals Inc. combines the cost-effective Pentacut—which can be used in multifunction applications, including grooving, parting, recessing and chamfering—with innovative high-pressure coolant technology.
Iscar Metals Inc.’s Heli Tang T490 milling cutter for roughing accepts inserts with serrated, chip-splitting grooves. These grooves can improve performance when the machine power is limited or when evacuating chips from narrow slots or deep cavities, according to the company.
The increased popularity of Swiss-style machine tools and the need for fast tool indexing with high repeatability and precision has inspired Iscar Metals to develop small-diameter cutting tools with precision indexing. The new PiccoAce system allows easy quick and easy clamping with modularity…
