Alignment laser accelerates machine tool assembly
The ultimate accuracy and reliability of a machine tool depends in no small degree on the alignment checking during its assembly. Seeking an alternative to traditional error measurement techniques, Hurco Manufacturing Ltd. (Hurco) chose Renishaw's XK10 alignment laser system to increase both precision and throughput of its machine tools..nn
9 x 20-inch Bench Engine Lathe
Due to its heavy cast iron construction, smooth power transmission and precision thrust and ball bearings in the head stock and spindle, the bench lathe provides years of trouble-free, precise turning. The Bench Lathe is the right choice for turning small metal parts.
V-308 Nanopositioning Slide
The closed-loop linear slide uses an optical position sensor with sub nanometer resolution and a voice coil linear motor to allow vertical (or horizontal) travel up to 7mm with a velocity up to 200mm/sec (8"/sec) for fast accurate scanning. Guided by low friction cross-roller bearings, this low-profile linear slide delivers long lasting performance in high duty cycle industrial applications. Ease-of-use is built in with a user-adjustable counterbalance, (e.g. for heavy, large NA microscope objective lenses up to 1kg in vertical applications) and hard stop adjustability to limit the travel range.
Machine vision with HALCON 21.05
A major highlight in the new HALCON 21.05 version is the Generic Shape Matching feature, which makes MVTec's industry-proven shape matching technologies even more user-friendly and future proof. Users can now implement their solutions much faster and more easily, thanks to a significant reduction in the number of operators required. Moreover, thanks to the unification of HALCON's different shape matching methods into a single set of operators, users can now integrate new shape-matching-related features more easily.
MC128 Advance and MD128 Supreme
The MC128 Advance boasts a wide diameter range of 1/4 -3/4 in. (2-25 mm) with a TiAIN coating for universal use. WJ30TF grade is available for ISO materials P, M, K, and S. The MC128 Advance is well suited for die and mold work as well as general metalworking. The MD128 Supreme provides 64% more tool life when compared to similar competitive cutters. It is a close pitch cutter providing maximum productivity thanks to more teeth, a longer cutting-edge length and material-specific grades.
Machinery Sales Co. wins Kitamura achievement award
Machinery Sales Co. (MASCO), a full-service distributor of metal-cutting machine tools has won an "Outstanding Achievement" award from Kitamura Machinery.
MS Geometry Insert
The drill´s »X»-shaped pocket, and tapered seat provide stability in challenging applications while making it easy to change out the insert without disassembling the body from the holder. These key design features reduce unstable cutting conditions experienced with other drills commonly available in the market today, while enabling higher penetration rates and reducing overall machine set up times and costs.
FANUC RoboCut α- CiC Series
The next generation of the RoboCut features innovative technology, making it the most productive wire EDM machine on the market. Constructed for ultimate rigidity, the advanced EDM machines minimize the amount of distortion embedded into each part. New discharge devices, powered by the SF3 power supply, improve surface roughening capabilities while maintaining high cutting speeds.
OptoFlash XS60
The speed and precision of the OptoFlash enables 100+ static measurements on parts up to 60mm in length and 20 mm in diameter within two seconds at U95 = 1 µm + D/200 (D in mm) with the ability to switch from one-part type to another with just one click (flexible gauge). It captures images of the component over the 360° degrees, automatically combining several images to determine both part optical axis and measurements of the features.n
iShield Camera
In addition to the microSD card, the solution includes the 'iShield Camera Card Tool' (iCCT) software, which is a free download from the Swissbit website. With iCCT, the card's security settings are activated via the computer before it is used for the first time. The user PIN is also set here. The card is then ready to deploy and will reliably capture all recorded camera data. iShield Camera supports Loop Recording, where a camera deletes the oldest recordings to make room for new data.n
Schaller Group off to races with new CNC technology
The Schaller Group, a Michigan-based metal forming company, invested in CNC technology to drive growth in the family-owned company and support the company principle's passion for hydroplane racing.
Gear shop modernizes with shrink-fit technology
Boulevard Machine & Gear, a gear-cutting shop founded in 1954 to serve the paper industry in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, began a period of modernization and investment with the 2006 acquisition of the company by Susan Kasa. Kasa's focus was to grow the company and become more efficient. One issue of concern dealt with completing certain machining jobs with conventional side-lock and collet holders. To solve this problem, the company invested in a Haimer Power Clamp Special Edition shrink fit machine, Haimer Standard Shrink chucks, Haimer Power Shrink chucks and extensions.
