Wire EDM Module
The new CAMWorks wire EDM module also includes enhanced feature recognition for non-planar geometry. Instead of the user needing to project the geometry for the top and bottom of the part and create 2D sketches, the new wire EDM software uses geometry directly from the solid model to construct and create the correct top and bottom profiles automatically.
Diaphragm Chuck for a Wire EDM
Northfield Precision Instrument Corp. reported that when a customer requiring a highly specialized diaphragm chuck was not finding success with other chuck manufacturers, they turned to Northfield Precision Instrument. The chuck needed to be submersible for use in a wire EDM. To achieve this, the engineers at Northfield designed a specialized chuck with all non-stainless steel wetted parts.
IWire
Featured on new GF Machining Solutions' CUT P Pro Series wire EDMs, the iWire function works in tandem with the company's Intelligent Spark Protection System (ISPS), both of which are part of the company's Uniqua control.
Spyral Saw Blades
Spyral saw blades cut in all directions, even sideways and backwards. They will cut in the direction of the feed pressure, which can make a significant difference when cutting without rigid fixturing.
CX-8/0 Rectangular Power Connectors
The rectangular power connectors series (CX-8/0) feature safe crimp termination. Compared to other rectangular inserts using the axial screw termination, the CX-8/0 series with crimp technology is more resistant to mechanical stresses such as vibration, shock, and strain on wire strands.
WT500/1000 Series
This system is capable of transporting wire gauges from 1 to 20 and tube sizes from Ø 0.250 mm to Ø 12.7 mm. The WT500/1000 provides quick setups for part changeovers with a belt-driven automatic diameter adjustment transport.
