PI adds to its family of precision automation subsystems with the A-351 MGS, a compact mechanical gantry system engineered to deliver maximum throughput for applications that require controlled precise overhead motion. The gantry is driven by linear motors and each axis is equipped with preloaded linear bearings.

Recently acquired by Mitsubishi Electric Corp., ASTES4, a company based in Switzerland, specializes in the development of automated sorting solutions for sheet metal laser processing machines. ASTES4 has developed LASORTING – the first fully integrated system for the cutting, sorting and storage of sheet metal to streamline processes, speed up production and reduce labor costs.

Hypertherm is introducing three new torch sleeves for XPR plasma cutting torches and lead sets. The sleeves allow the torch and lead sets to remain axially fixed while the torch holding device rotates 360 degrees in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. This capability greatly enhances torch lead life in high-flex applications.
