NSK IMTS 2024 Booth Visit

NSK America Corporation manufactures high-speed precision spindles and micro grinders, offering adaptable systems for various machines. Their spindles reach speeds of 50,000 RPM and 80,000 RPM, suitable for micro and nano machining. The iSpeed series allows for quick tool changes, while the E3000 series features a 30mm straight spindle for specialty applications. NSK also provides electric micro grinders with multiple RPM options and compatibility with various attachments.

Miniature Metric Ball Screws

Thomson miniature metric ball screws accomplish this with a unique multi-liner return system that maximizes the number of circuits and loaded balls in the nut. A miniature metric system with a multi-liner return system, for example, deploys 168 balls in eight circuits to support 7.6 kN of static load, as compared to a single-liner design, which would use 84 balls in four circuits to support only 4.2 kN. Maximizing the number of balls within a single nut also extends the life of the system by spreading the load across multiple points.

Rectangular and Square Bumpers

These bumpers are available in “off-the-shelf” sizes, as well as special cut to custom requirements. Bumpers are most often used in material handling, assembly and manufacturing operations to guide, stop and support parts as they are moved and transferred. Fairlane Products maintains a large inventory of products and they are an economical alternative in many applications to eliminate the need for custom engineered molded components.

Custom Retention Knobs

All TJ Davies custom retention knobs are manufactured from American-made 8620 alloy steel which has a high tensile strength to withstand strong centrifugal force, high load force, high feed rate, and difficult to machine material. All knobs are machined in-house with single point threading to Imperial (Class 2A UNC) or Metric (Class G6) standards. After threading is completed, each component is heat treated to 58-62 HRC then treated with hot black oxide to military specifications for protection against corrosion. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and then pull tested to 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar it is designed for.

Hand Wheels and Cranks

The hand wheels come equipped with fixed handles, revolving handles or no handles. Handwheels are made of a variety of materials such as cast iron, aluminum, Duroplast plastic, stainless steel and finished including chrome plated and powder baked. Cranks are available in a straight or offset style. They are available in cast iron and high-density thermoplastic, in either a revolving or folding handle style.

8620 Alloy Steel Retention Knobs

The use of 8620 ensures that the components will work harden over time, rather than becoming brittle as is the case with the use 9310 alloy steel. Single point threading ensures that the threads are balanced (lead-in/lead-out at 180 degrees) which is very difficult to achieve when rolling threads.  Full depth is also attained for each thread. Because all machining is done with a single set-up, concentricity is achieved.

Bearing Wheel Covers

Standard sizes are available in stock, ready to ship and are available in diameters of 3/4" to 1-1/2", bore diameters from 3/16" to 1/2" and with widths from 3/8" to 5/8" depending on the type of cover. This is counter to the more traditional availability of these bearing wheel covers,  many of which require lead time, minimum orders and tooling.

Aluminium Clevis Forks

The forks’ anodised coating adds protection against corrosion, and the black finish is ideal for installation in optically sensitive environments. This enables the new clevis forks to blend in with engine bays and machines, and the linkages are also ideal for installation in theatre sets where the black coating obscures them from audience view.

Hydrostatic Linear Slides

hydrostatically guided slides are wear-free and thus have an unlimited service life. The hydrostatically guided linear slide units are characterised by high reliability, long-term availability and low service costs. Since these properties exist independently of the service life, the machine end-customer can produce more effectively and economically in the long term.
