TRT70 Dual-Axis Rotary Table

The TRT70 dual-axis rotary table from Haas Automation delivers high-speed and accurate positioning for 3+2 and full 5-axis machining of small, complex parts – like those found in the medical, dental, and jewelry industries. The unit’s ultracompact size and light weight reportedly make the TRT70 the perfect dual-axis solution for even the smallest machining center.

CM-1 Compact Mill

Small parts manufacturing can pose significant machining challenges for the average job shop. Tiny holes, minute features, extreme accuracies and fine surface finishes may prove difficult for larger CNC machines. Haas Automation’s new CM-1 compact mill is a small-footprint, high-accuracy solution for the production and prototyping of small, high-precision 2D and 3D parts, such as those found in the communications, aerospace, medical and dental industries.

Companies Adopt B2B eCommerce and Sales Rep Technology

Handshake, which offers B2B commerce technology for manufacturers and distributors, announced key findings from its 2016 Manufacturing & Distribution Sales and Technology Survey Report. This annual survey explores how manufacturers and distributors around the world are changing the way they sell and deliver products to their customers in the wake of new challenges, disruptive technologies and shifting customer expectations.

NX Software with Convergent Modeling

The latest version of Siemens’ NX software (NX 11) reportedly delivers a breakthrough in digital product development with Convergent Modeling, a new modeling paradigm that simplifies the ability to work with geometry consisting of a combination of facets, surfaces and solids, without the need for time-consuming data conversion. Convergent Modeling will help engineers optimize part design for 3D printing, speed up the overall design process and make reverse engineering a far more common and efficient practice in product design.

Laser Line Generator

A new series of laser line generators from Coherent Inc. enables the detection of smaller features in machine vision applications based on triangulation. Specifically, StingRay µFocus (Micro Focus) lasers feature a linewidth that is 40 percent smaller than standard Coherent StingRay products (at the same working distance), and can achieve focused linewidths as small as 20 µm, thus providing increased spatial resolution and the ability to discern finer details.

Flexible Printed Circuits

Fast response, high bandwidth and force, and virtually unlimited resolution make piezoelectric transducers invaluable to modern high tech applications including flow measurement, distance gauging, bio-medical dispensing and aerosol generation, as well as metrology, semiconductor testing, and aerospace technology. PI offers value-added piezo components by adhering flexible printed circuits for easy application integration.
