The Quaker Chemical Corp., Conshohocken, Penn., acquired Lubricor Inc., a Canadian metalworking fluids manufacturer, in a deal announced Dec. 1.
Lubricor, which manufactures and markets value-added metalworking products such as synthetic and semi-synthetic coolants, hydroforming fluid, and stamping products, sells directly to primarily Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers in North American, according to a Quaker news release.
"With the addition of Lubricor’s technology, we will have a broader offering to serve our customers," said Joe Berquist, vice president and managing director of Quaker North America. "Lubricor has a full portfolio of coolants that complement our existing product line. Their position in hydroforming and stamping brings some different technology to us that we are excited to share with our customers. Furthermore, Lubricor is known for their great customer service. Culturally, our two companies are a great fit."
Established in 1998, Lubricor has nearly 30 employees, who are mainly based at the company's headquarters and manufacturing plant in Waterloo, ON, with a sales presence throughout North America, and distributor relationships in South East Asia.
Quaker is a global company offering process fluids, chemical specialties and technical expertise in a wide range of industries, including steel, aluminum, automotive, mining, aerospace, tube and pipe, cans and others. For more about Quaker, visit the company website.
