The Eriez 5-Star Service Center, located at the separation technologies provider's plant in Erie, Pa., offers equipment service and repair, inspection/preventive maintenance and rebuilds as well as a certification and exchange program for lift magnets.

Eriez inspects and services magnetic separators, vibratory feeders, conveyors, screeners and classifiers, metal detectors, eddy current separators, lifting magnets, magnetic coolant cleaners, magnetic belt conveyors, magnetic chip and parts conveyors. The 5-Star Service Center is equipped with the machining, fabricating and welding capabilities necessary to rebuild complex systems, including complete testing, diagnostics, tear-down, inspection and updated electronics and assemblies. Eriez offers "as new" warranties for all jobs.

Eriez research shows that customers can save as much as 60 percent by choosing to rebuild rather than buying new equipment. The company recently produced a white paper on the economics of rebuilding vs. buying new equipment. It can be downloaded here

Eriez also inspects lift magnets to ensure they remain in compliance with ASME standards. Repaired magnets are returned with a "Certificate of Compliance," guaranteeing the repairs and load tests of the magnet comply with ASME B30.20 as well as a 1-year "as-new" warranty.

    coolant

Fluid that reduces temperature buildup at the tool/workpiece interface during machining. Normally takes the form of a liquid such as soluble or chemical mixtures (semisynthetic, synthetic) but can be pressurized air or other gas. Because of water’s ability to absorb great quantities of heat, it is widely used as a coolant and vehicle for various cutting compounds, with the water-to-compound ratio varying with the machining task. See cutting fluid; semisynthetic cutting fluid; soluble-oil cutting fluid; synthetic cutting fluid.
