Meister Abrasives USA Inc.

Meister Abrasives USA Inc. is committed to its customers. We’re always ready to go the extra mile to try to solve a nagging grinding problem. The Meister Toolbox is loaded with guides, calculators and other materials to help operators maximize their grinding efficiency. That unwavering focus is the catalyst for Meister’s innovative approach to new product development.

This attitude is ingrained in every Meister Associate from the highest levels on down. Never was this more evident than over Labor Day weekend, 1988 as Meister’s Founder and President, Konrad Meister, and our first US employee, Rudy Arn, set up that initial sales office in Shrewsbury, MA.

They worked over the whole weekend, and a few days prior, purchasing used office furniture, installing shelving, acquiring a fax machine and computer, and running countless errands for hardware and office accessories. They spent a day with lawyers and another with accountants finalizing the legal and financial documents.

Then there was the issue of a typewriter for Konrad. He didn’t want an electric typewriter. It had to be a manual. And so he and Rudy visited several used office furniture and supply stores before finding a manual typewriter in good shape.

The work completed, Konrad Meister returned home to Switzerland and Rudy set about building the business. Before departing, however, Meister’s Founder was treated to a delightful evening as the honored guest for dinner at the home of Rudy and Madeline.

The crowning touch was Madaline’s Strawberry Cheesecake. Konrad told her that he had had Strawberry Cheesecake in many different places, but that hers was the very best he’d ever tasted!

Meister’s current marketing theme is: “Tailored Solutions. Meet the Experts.”

I guess you could say that the work that Labor Day weekend in 1988 was “tailoring” Meister Abrasives, USA., for a very successful future.
