Stitching and the Client Viewer feature are among a number of enhancements made to the latest version of WorkXplore, Vero Software’s powerful full-featured, high-speed CAD file viewer and analyzer. Values of parameters for both manual and automatic stitching can now be handled independently in WorkXplore 2019 R1.
“In fact, new parameters have been added to the options available for the interfaces,” says WorkXplore Product Owner Luca Clerici.
The bulk of enhancements in this latest version revolve around the Client Viewer.
“It’s now possible to export all scenes created in WorkXplore to the Client Viewer, through an option which has been added to the Client Viewer Export window,” he explains. “When the option’s ticked, all the user-selected entities and entities linked to the scenes – both wire entities and GDTs – will be exported to the Client Viewer. If the option isn’t ticked, only the selected entities will be exported.”
If the option is enabled for an export, it will automatically be enabled for the next export, too.
Whenever scenes have been exported, a new tab will appear in the Client Viewer showing all the scenes exported from WorkXplore. A scene can be activated by double-clicking it, and the active scene will be displayed in bold style.
A major difference is that Client Viewer’s camera movements are not locked. “This is because we expect Client Viewer to be used by people who aren’t necessarily familiar with WorkXplore,” Clerici says.
The active scene can be deactivated by clicking on a button in the 3D view. And if a scene has been exported with a section plane, that will be available, as well – independently from a potential dynamic section activated in the Client Viewer.
In addition to a gradient, WorkXplore 2019 R1 gives the option of setting a uniform background color as soon as the Client Viewer is generated. “In the same way, it’s now possible to save the current point of view for exporting,” Clerici says.
As it is possible to have an active dynamic section in Catia V5’s GD&T captures, a new enhancement in WorkXplore 2019 R1 gives users the opportunity to retrieve that information during import and add it to the available scenes.
Generic information dialogs used in several places, including object information and license information, has been refurbished by adding it to the alternate line colors and the word wrap. Clerici says it is also possible to select text directly and copy it.
Finally, the latest release continues WorkXplore’s tradition of updating support for translators, supporting a wide variety of readers and writers, including Catia, Inventor, Parasolid, Solid Edge, SOLIDWORKS, STEP, DXF and IGES.
